FastMarket is a mobile marketplace application operated by Fast Tech Solutions, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. FastMarket allows users to buy, sell, and discover products and services across Ethiopia.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the FastMarket mobile application and related services at fasttechsolutions.et.
By using FastMarket, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Data We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide you with a safe and functional marketplace experience.

We do not collect passwords, payment card numbers, or sensitive financial information directly. Payments are handled securely by our payment partner Chapa.
Sign-In Methods (Google, Apple & Telegram)
Google Sign-In
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data. Your information is stored securely on our servers and is not shared back with Google for advertising purposes.
Sign in with Apple
When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide us with your name and either your real email address or an Apple-generated private relay email address (if you choose to hide your email). We support both options.
- If you choose to share your email, we receive your real Apple ID email
- If you choose to hide your email, Apple provides a private relay address that forwards to your real email — we store and use this relay address
- We do not receive your Apple ID password or any other Apple account data
- Apple Sign-In complies with Apple's authentication requirements and your privacy preferences set in your Apple ID settings
Sign in with Telegram
When you sign in with Telegram, we receive your name and username from Telegram. We do not receive your phone number or any other Telegram account data unless you choose to share them. Your information is stored securely on our servers and is not shared back with Telegram for advertising purposes.
- We receive your Telegram name and username
- We do not receive your phone number or password from Telegram
- Telegram Sign-In uses Telegram's authentication protocol and respects your privacy settings
- You can revoke FastMarket's access from your Telegram settings at any time
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your FastMarket account
- Display your listings to potential buyers
- Enable in-app messaging between buyers and sellers
- Process payments through our payment partner
- Send push notifications about messages, offers, and app updates
- Show you nearby listings based on your location (only when you grant permission)
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and policy violations
- Respond to your support requests
- Improve and maintain the FastMarket app
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Third-Party Services
FastMarket uses the following trusted third-party services to operate:

Push Notifications
FastMarket uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications to your device. We may send you notifications about:
- New messages from buyers or sellers
- Updates about your listings
- Payment confirmations
- Promotional offers and app announcements from FastMarket
To send notifications, we store your device's FCM token on our servers. This token is linked to your user account and is refreshed automatically when you reinstall the app.
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings (Settings → FastMarket → Notifications).
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:
- Active listings — kept for 15 days (normal) or 30 days (featured), then automatically deleted
- Messages and conversations — kept until the related listing expires or you delete your account
- Account information — kept until you delete your account
- Support requests — kept for 12 months for quality and compliance purposes
When you delete your account, all your personal data, listings, messages, and images are permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — update incorrect or incomplete information through your profile settings
- Deletion — permanently delete your account and all associated data (see Section 10)
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Opt-out — opt out of push notifications through your device settings
- Revoke Sign-In — revoke Google, Apple, or Telegram sign-in access at any time through their respective settings

Account Deletion
To delete your account:
- Open FastMarket
- Go to Profile → Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted:
- Your profile information (name, email, phone number)
- All your listings and listing images
- All conversations and messages
- Your device push notification tokens
If you signed in with Apple, you should also revoke FastMarket's access from your Apple ID settings after deleting your account. If you signed in with Google, you may similarly revoke access from your Google account settings. If you signed in with Telegram, you can revoke access from your Telegram settings.
If you are unable to delete your account from within the app, you may also request deletion by emailing us at info@fasttechsolutions.et. We will process your request within 7 business days.
Children's Privacy
FastMarket is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information immediately.

Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously. We implement the following measures to protect your information:
- HTTPS encryption — all data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL
- Token-based authentication — your account is secured with a unique authentication token, not a password
- Server-side validation — all requests are validated on our servers before processing
- Limited data access — only authenticated users can access protected data
While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the FastMarket app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
Your continued use of FastMarket after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
